Double Date is our first washed Indonesian, and it immediately stood out on the cupping table in Oslo with our partners at Nordic Approach. Produced by Frinsa Estate, this coffee is clean, vibrant, and elegant, with mild herbal hints, a crisp structure, and floral, hop-like nuances. Expect tasting notes of date syrup, mandarin, and floral hops, a bright and expressive cup that highlights the beauty of Indonesian terroir in a whole new way.
This is a completely different profile than what we are used to from Las Flores. When the coffee is harvested, it is then pulped and left oxidising with the mucilage for 12 hours. It then underwent submerged fermentation in 28-degree water for 8 hours. To complete the process, the coffee was washed with hot water at 65-70 degrees to create a thermal shock effect. The coffee is dried to a humidity of 11%, which took 18-24 days.
