This handmade porcelain cup is unusual for all the right reasons. Featuring Linda Bloomfield’s signature visible dimples and unconventionally thrown clay-shape, the inner blue glaze glides along the smooth porcelain to create an aqua feel which aligns perfectly with its satin matte glazed exterior. Looking into the cup there are visible ripples which dwindle toward a glossy blue centre, creating a wave-like effect that might remind you of the ocean.
Please note that each of these pieces are unique, that’s why all our measurements are approximate: dimensions, shapes and colors may vary slightly.
Linda Bloomfield is a ceramic artist, teacher, and author. Linda has developed a signature style, and has become renowned for her use of original, colourful glazes in conjunction with her tendency to think outside the realms of tradition when it comes to shape and aesthetic design.
She likes to work with glazes obtained naturally through the process of oxidation, as opposed to commercially obtained glazes, and is creating unusual, authentic, and wonderfully weird designs which feel good to hold and are visually striking.
