The amber and emerald soaps from Sebastian Berge are as much a wall feature as they are a practical object. They are made of glycerine, and have moisturising properties. The amber ring has a subtle vanilla scent, whilst the emerald ring has a more mild scent.
Designed to be long lasting, and hanging on a peg, these soaps measure 75 x 20 mm, are suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and are not tested on animals.
“There’s always another way of doing it, and there’s always another way of doing it better than it’s been done before.” – Sebastian Bergne is a designer based in London, in the UK. His designs are easily recognisable for how they play with convention. Bergne creates everyday household objects which do not look like everyday household objects, and seeks to find ways to reinvent everyday appliances into something new, interesting, and desirable.
Bergne has been designing since 1990, when he founded his design studio as a graduate from the Royal College of Art. His work has since gone on to be featured in many prestigious publications and even museums such as New York’s Museum of Modern Art. Bergne is a good example of someone who is never satisfied with convention, and is continually reshaping the ordinary with his vivid imagination and design talent.
