Tom Butcher Ceramics
Tom Butcher is a potter based in Brighton with more than 20 years of experience of working with both hospitality and retail clients, as well as supplying bespoke plates and bowls to some of the most highly rated fine dining restaurants in the UK.
”I started my career at Brighton University and went on to teach in Hackney, East London. it was a long term and slightly distant dream to be able to make a living as a full time potter. I moved and settled to the shores of Loch Long, Scotland, where I overlooked the Arrochar Alps, surrounded by the inspirational scenery of the Loch Lomond. Inspired by back to basics rustic living, my first range originated as simple, functional items designed for family and friends.”
— Tom Butcher
Tom returned to sunny Brighton after 20 years living in Scotland, to refine a collection of functional tableware inspired both by the Japanese principle of Wabi-Sabi together with Scandinavian simplicity of form and tone. These pieces are rarely available, with the core multi-functional pieces launched once every 1-2 years.
