Typical Japanese colours, such as aquarelle-blue, light green, red-orange and ochre, are recontextualised and applied in new combinations on a set of contemporary, highly functional tableware that in its entirety still reflect the typical Arita colour spectrum.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLayered colour compositions are carried out in various textures and shades of glaze and are combined with the natural white of the porcelain itself. Made with a delicate sense for local crafts and industry, Colour Porcelain shows an original European perspective on Japanese tradition. the classic chalk-white porcelain and a raw, natural gray. They continue to combine minimal forms and balanced use of colour with traditional craft techniques and industrial production in a distinctive, almost un-Dutch design style. The finesse, entrancing colours and subtle use of materials in their work have earned them considerable admiration in the international design world. Their work, both independent and commissioned, is collected and exhibited worldwide.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter a successful collaboration of 19 years designers Carole Baijings and Stefan Scholten have decided to explore new artistic challenges individually. Both will work under their own moniker.
