Blind Barber
Blind Barber was founded by friends Adam Kirsch, Jeff Laub and Josh Boyd in 2010. The trio set up a barbershop in the East Village in New York with two chairs, with a secret tucked behind the last chair. The idea was simple: blend a classic style with modern expectations – and invite everyone inside. Friends came for a cut, stayed for a drink, and most importantly, felt like themselves. 10 years later and Blind Barber have now got barbershops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and Philadelphia.
”Blind Barber started as a barbershop with a speakeasy cocktail lounge hidden behind the shop. The concept was just that – to have the shop with a bar experience attached. The name stems from the Prohibition era, when alcohol was illegal and social spaces that served alcohol were called ‘blind tiger’ or ‘blind pig’, because the cops would literally turn a blind eye to the bars.”

The trio launched their grooming product line in 2012. Combining high quality ingredients, their barbers’ expertise, and natural ingredients from our favourite spirits (like hops and juniper berry), the team “bottled up” their ethos and the spirit pulsing through each of their locations. Each unique formula, from pomades to moisturiser, has been designed hand-in-hand with barbers and formulated by the best chemists in the United States, ensuring they meet the quality and performance that the experts expect. In 2013 the Blind Barber products were named Best of Beauty by Allure Magazine.
In 2022, Blind Barber redesigned their packaging and transitioned to eco friendly vessels 0 virgin plastic has been replaced with aluminium, glass, and recycled plastic. The company became certified Plastic Neutral by rePurpose Global, whereby the brand donate a percentage towards vetted programmes that collect and recycle as much plastic waste from the environment as is used in their packaging.
