Designed in collaboration with sommelier André Hueston Mack, the Best Wine Key is more than a hunk of articulated steel with a boastful name. It’s the final answer to a longstanding question: how do I get this wine out of this bottle? There have been attempts to answer this query, and while there remain some adequate methods for addressing the issue, we really think we knocked it out of the park here.

The Best Wine Key boasts a substantial presence in the user’s hand, a tactile reminder of its oenological authority. Its foil knife is precisely angled to keep the serrated blade on task as it makes its rounds, and the ratcheted swingarm mechanism transforms the once tedious chore of cork extraction into a smooth, satisfying ritual. Even with near infinite combinations of bottles, caps, corks, and casks to explore, nothing pairs with all of them better than The Best.

Craighill

Craighill are a design and manufacturing brand based in New York, founded by designer, Hunter Craighill, in 2015. With a focus on creating distinct and useful objects for you and your home, they have a wide range of products made from different materials. Their design ethos explores all possibilities and is driven by personal curiosity, industrial experimentation, and basic utility.

They believe that understanding more about how a product is made, and the reasons behind its design decisions, can increase appreciation for it and discourage a culture of consumption and waste. One of the best parts of owning and enjoying physical objects is that they can move us out of our busy, overworked minds and return us to the sensory pleasures of touching, seeing, and doing.

Craighill design their products in their studio in Brooklyn, New York. The studio occupies part of an old textile mill that was built in 1868. The huge building has been split up and is now home to artists, designers, furniture makers, and other craftspeople. The Craighill studio has a small showroom where they present their products, which is open to curious passers-by.
