This coffee is, for all intents and purposes, a miracle. A dry mill mired in scandal, massive exploitative debts and subsequent bailouts, protests and sacking of leadership, armed escorts defending against entire lots being stolen – there is an entire Oscar-bait drama waiting to be made following the last few years of this Coop and Mill, and the forceful and (thankfully proving to be) steadying hand of government intervention on behalf of farmers across Kenya.
But that’s not what drew us to this coffee- what drew us to this coffee is that it’s damned good. And I mean really good. But if you want to piece together a truly fascinating, and ultimately heartening story, do google what you can with the information you’ve been given. And if you turn this into an award winning screenplay- you’re welcome.
