LSA Islay Whisky Set

This combination set includes a decanter with walnut base, water jug with coaster, and two tumblers with coasters. Expert craftsmanship is required to mouth blow the glass and grind the stopper by hand.

Mouth blown by master glassblowers to create the glasses and decanter in the Islay Whisky set. The decanter stopper is ground to fit the neck of the decanter. The rim of the jug is scissor cut by expert craftsmen to achieve a soft rounded rim and the spout is shaped by hand using a wooden tool while the glass is still malleable. The decanter base and wooden coasters are shaped from American walnut and treated with food safe oils to bring out the grain and depth of colour. The wood is sourced from sustainably-managed forests and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Hand wash the glass in warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth. Clean the wood with a soft brush or damp cloth. Do not leave immersed in water or place in a dishwasher. Allow to dry naturally.

MEET THE MAKER

LSA

Janusz Lubkowski co-founded LSA International in 1960s London during a period of cultural and social change. His belief in a diversity of ideas and passion for contemporary design ensured the company thrived. His daughter, Monika Lubkowska-Jonas, is LSA’s Designer & Creative Director. Through shared experience and values, Monika continues to develop her father’s vision and a culture of understanding that defines the company’s past, present and future.

A classic enamelled coffee pot was the first LSA product, sold at Terence Conran’s Habitat in 1966. The collection has since evolved and continues to do so, with handcrafted products from a range of materials, including glass, wood & porcelain. Many LSA products are internationally recognised, and they have won awards including the iF design award, Design Plus award, Good Design award, and the Green Good Design award.

LSA designs timeless tableware & homeware, and it is by this philosophy that they company fulfil their sustainability promise. By designing lasting, considered products, people are encouraged to make sustainable choices: buying less and owning for longer. The company designed a range in partnership with the Eden project – ‘Canopy’ is a collection of handmade, recycled glass products. Centred around the concepts of hydration and propagation Canopy addresses environmental concerns around single-use plastics, water conservation and plant preservation.
