Unifrom
Conceptualised in Stockholm, developed in Paris, and crafted in Grasse, Unifrom is a fragrance house redefining how we engage with scent. What began as a passion project—sparked by Haisam Mohammed’s experiences in the stairwells of high-rise buildings, where the air was filled with the aromas of home-cooked meals, burning incense, and blended spices—has evolved into something much larger.
Innovation and beauty are inherently connected, driving the fragrance industry forward as consumers become increasingly knowledgeable and discerning. Yet, despite advancements in scent composition, traditional methods of wearing and experiencing fragrance have remained largely unchanged. Few brands challenge these conventions, but Unifrom does—reshaping both the meaning behind its fragrances and how they are delivered.
“Throughout my life, I have always sought new mediums and formats through which I can express and communicate different cultural messages. I have designed, printed, and created physical experiences for as far back as I can remember. But the one format that always stuck in the back of my head was scents. Without knowing too much about the industry or the steps needed to start making perfume, I began writing down my life experiences and realised how scent had always been a key element. The root of my intention for Unifrom has always been to showcase the depth and beauty of the references from my heritage.”
— Haisam Mohammed, founder and creative director
Unifrom’s signature scents—Maghrib, Cassis, and Limbo—are a reflection of Mohammed’s experience navigating different cultures. These fragrances capture fleeting yet significant moments: the quiet stillness of a rooftop at sunset, the interplay of safety and uncertainty, the nostalgia of home. Each blend tells a story, whether through cedarwood and tobacco reminiscent of childhood memories or unconventional yet harmonious pairings like rhubarb, hay, and ylang-ylang.
Unifrom also challenges the conventional spray-and-wear format, favouring perfume oils that are gentler on the skin compared to alcohol-based formulas. The brand continues to expand the sensory experience of fragrance lovers, venturing into new olfactory territories with candles and incense.
