This lot was cultivated at Finca Vista Paraíso and processed by the Alvarado family at their micromill, Corazon de Jesus. From its inception in 2015 to today, they have demonstrated extreme dedication to showcasing Pérez Zeledón as an outstanding coffee growing region. This is apparent in their placements in Cup of Excellence- climbing the ranks the past few years before winning 1st place in 2025, and taking top marks across all of washed, honey, and natural categories.

The lot is 100% Catigua, a variety developed in Minas Gerais, Brazil in the 1980s for resistance to rust, with a quick maturation and high yield potential. But what makes this variety stand out is that it follows a late ripening cycle, giving the cherries a longer maturation period with more sugars, resulting in a sweet dense fruit that is extremely evident in the cup.
