Euan McCall stands as a pioneering figure in contemporary perfumery, having single-handedly established Scotland as a notable presence in the global fragrance industry. His journey began in childhood, surrounded by the horticultural business of his grandparents and inspired by his grandmother's love for perfume. A formative trip to Grasse at age eight solidified his ambition to pursue perfumery, though finding a clear career path in Scotland proved challenging.

McCall's self-directed approach to learning perfumery involved working with as many perfumers as possible, including informal training with a Highland-based perfumer and early mentorship from Dr. George Dodd, an Irish perfumer and biochemist. In 2009, he founded Jorum Laboratories, offering freelance formulation and consulting services to international clients. After a decade of experience working with brands like Neandertal and Senyokô, McCall co-founded Jorum Studio in 2019 with partner Chloe Mullen.His creative philosophy centers on creating new olfactory landscapes using noble materials in innovative ways. McCall describes his fragrances as "dreams brought to life through the combination of aromatic materials," emphasizing his desire to move people and bring intangible joy. His approach is deliberately unhurried and analytical, involving extensive research, moodboarding, and a lengthy creative process that allows concepts to develop naturally.
