Made by Eren Armitage (Harrogate, UK)
This stoneware katakuchi matcha bowl is made from speckled clay and finished in a soft matte white glaze, creating a gently freckled surface with depth and texture. Hand-thrown with a spout, layered with multiple glazes, and fired at 1230°C, it reflects a quiet and considered approach to form and function. The spout allows for a clean, controlled pour, making it well-suited for preparing and serving matcha.
Each piece is crafted in Harrogate using stoneware clay. The bowl’s design blends elements of Japanese heritage with the natural textures of the countryside, creating a surface that feels both grounded and organic.
With its handmade nature, each bowl is one-of-a-kind, showcasing subtle variations that reflect its individuality.
