Our menus are seasonal with focus being on the best ingredients we can source during those months. The same applies to our speciality coffees. Different coffee region bear fruit at differing times of the year.
All our patisserie is made in our professional kitchen in house and spearheaded by Lesley Tang who has trained both in the Far East and London. She has spent 10 years honing her skills under some of the best chefs in the world, working in top restaurants and being educated in Le Cordon Bleu. She makes a point to travel and visit some of the top places in the world to ensure we are benchmarking our little shop and offering against those.
Our speciality coffee selection and recipes are led by Sam Amdjadi who has been researching, being educated, and involved in speciality coffee since 2015. A point to note is that Sam has no formal qualification in this area – it’s more a passion and has been driven by a want to improve a morning ritual. Sam’s background & academic education is steeped in design, computer science and technology, latterly developing an interest and involved in interior and product design projects.
We pride ourselves in taking a modern approach to both areas. What this means in practise is a focus on high quality ingredients, equipment and processes, but presented in a relaxed atmosphere by friendly / easy going staff. A word on pricing – our goal since day one has been to make these as affordable as we possibly can without compromising quality. We retain low margins and are always happy to share invoices relating to any aspect of our business. All you have to do is ask.
If you’ve taken a chance on us and popped along, we want to say thank you. We realise this is a fairly crowded space and we wanted to drive our own purpose and have a reason to exist as a business. This is why many aspects of our offering: the space, the products, the names etc are a little different to the norm. Some will like it. Some won’t. This is the subjective nature of life and no one is wrong. One thing we can assure you is that we will always be friendly and helpful. Ultimately we are a hospitality business and the very nature of the word means: service and experience.
