Inspired by the dimmable nature of traditional car headlights, designer Tom Chung has included a playful dial which enables the user to choose between three different dimmer settings to gradually alter the volume of light emitted from each end. This ensures maximum versatility and provides an intuitive way to adjust the output of the lamp’s integrated, energy-efficient LED light source for a variety of spaces.
Beam Table Lamp is a versatile table lamp with a modern expression and intuitive user-friendliness. The Beam Table Lamp can be altered for any position with its rotating base and sleek body of anodized aluminium, whether it be as direct lighting or for an ambient glow in any home, offices, hotel room and educational areas.

Tom Chung is an independent industrial designer who established his eponymous studio in 2016. Based in Toronto, the studio maintains a focus on industrial objects and interior spaces. Forming a unique design process that combines contemporary culture and local industry, the studio creates context driven industrial design pieces for domestic, institutional, and public environments.
“My interest in design is driven by the human experience of space. My process sources from contemporary culture creating context-driven industrial design with a rooted interest in performance. I apply principles of mobility, lightness and durability focusing on improving the objects shaping our built environment.”
In 2006 Muuto was founded by Kristian Byrge and Peter Bonnen with the idea to carry the golden age of Scandinavian design into the 21st Century. A year later Anders Cleeman joined the team, coming from a background in affordable luxury fashion, and in 2015 became the CEO.
“Muuto is rooted in the Scandinavian design tradition characterized by enduring aesthetics, functionality, craftsmanship and an honest expression.
By expanding this heritage with forward-looking materials, techniques and bold creative thinking, our ambition is to deliver new perspectives on Scandinavian design.
In fact our name, Muuto, comes from muutos, meaning new perspective in Finnish. We handpick leading contemporary designers who are strong interpreters of our philosophy and combine their talents with the passionate Muuto creative team.
You will know our design because it has muutos: objects made sublime through new perspectives, enjoyed across the world, representing the best of Scandinavian design today.”
